PWMA Knowledge Briefing Session on SFC Offline Requirements Applicable to Complex Products on 14 November 2018

In its press release on 4 October 2018, the SFC has issued conclusions to its further consultation on requirements applicable to the offline sale of complex products.  In summary, the SFC will proceed with the proposed amendments to the Code of Conduct for Persons licensed by or Registered with the Securities and Futures Commission (Code of Conduct) to apply the additional protective measures applicable to the distribution of complex products on online platforms to the offline sales of complex products. Amendments to the Code of Conduct will become effective on 4 April 2019.

A PWMA Briefing and Roundtable Discussion is scheduled for 14 November 2018 and we have invited Helen Fok, Partner of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius to share with us details of the SFC’s requirements and to provide a forum for industry members to discuss some of the implementation issues they face.
