Grounded in the belief that persons with disabilities should be embraced as equals, rather than be treated with exception, the workshop reminded us of the importance of engaging with care and sincerity — to accompany, not patronize.

🧶 Workshop 1: Volunteer Training
Led by disabled artist Chiu Wai-chi, participants were moved by her personal journey and inspired by her resilience. She taught us how to weave flower baskets using simple materials, demonstrating how art can bridge understanding and bring people together.

🧵 Workshop 2: Weaving Together
Participants applied their new skills, assisted others, and co-created woven baskets in an atmosphere of mutual support. This hands-on session brought to life the joy of craft and community.

From training to weaving, what stood out most was the shared sense of purpose — to empower, to connect, and to learn from one another.

We are sincerely grateful to the Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong for their partnership, and to all the volunteers who contributed their time, open hearts and helping hands. Together, we continue to foster a culture of inclusivity and compassion in our community.

Special thanks to Raynard Cheng from UBS for his mentorship, and to the PWMA Apprentice Programme Community Service Project Committee, in particular Matthew Cheng and Sonia Song, for making this event possible!
