{"id":12886,"date":"2026-07-04T16:55:00","date_gmt":"2026-07-04T08:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pwma.org.hk\/?post_type=events&#038;p=12886"},"modified":"2026-08-06T16:59:39","modified_gmt":"2026-08-06T08:59:39","slug":"pwma-community-service-centre-for-refugees-visit","status":"publish","type":"events","link":"https:\/\/www.pwma.org.hk\/tc\/events\/pwma-community-service-centre-for-refugees-visit\/","title":{"rendered":"PWMA Community Service \u2013 Centre for Refugees Visit"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As part of Private Wealth Management Association (PWMA)&#8217;s annual Apprenticeship Community Service Project, we were privileged to partner with the Christian Action Centre for Refugees for a meaningful community initiative in Chungking Mansions.<br><br>Bringing together apprentices, alumni, and industry volunteers, the visit provided a valuable opportunity to connect with the refugee community through storytelling, cultural exchange, and shared experiences &#8211; fostering greater empathy, understanding, and inclusion.<br><br>A highlight of the day was the Human Library, where refugee speakers courageously shared their personal journeys in Hong Kong, offering participants deeper insight into the challenges they face and the resilience they demonstrate every day.<br><br>Participants also visited the Diversity Hub, learning more about the history and contributions of Hong Kong&#8217;s ethnic minority communities and the role diversity plays in shaping our city.<br><br>During Lunch boxes with Love, volunteers worked together to prepare chicken biryani and pack meals for those in need, transforming a simple act of service into an opportunity for connection and teamwork.<br><br>\ud83d\udc63 The programme concluded with a guided 5 Senses Tour of Chungking Mansions, led by Vansh Arora, where participants experienced the sights, flavours, and traditions of the community first-hand while learning more about minority-owned businesses and the rich cultural heritage of the district.<br><br>We are deeply grateful to the Christian Action Centre for Refugees for their partnership, and to all the speakers, volunteers, and participants who made this experience so impactful.
