Working side-by-side on sand painting lightboxes, volunteers and participants explored creative ways to communicate, learn, and create together.

One particularly memorable moment came when ADAHK artist with disability Chiu Wai Chi surprised a participant with an impromptu sand-drawn birthday celebration, bringing smiles to faces across the room and reminding us of the power of simple moments to create meaningful connections.

Beyond the artworks themselves, the workshop offered valuable lessons on empathy, patience, adaptability and inclusion – qualities that extend far beyond the classroom or workplace.

We were deeply encouraged by the enthusiasm of everyone involved and grateful for the opportunity to contribute, in a small way, to a more inclusive community.

A heartfelt thank you to ADAHK, our apprentices and volunteers, and a special shoutout to Vivien Ip from UBS for her valuable mentorship and support. We would also like to thank the dedicated organising team – Hayden Yu, Michael Chan, Joyce Chan, and Ka Wai Lui – for their incredible efforts in bringing this meaningful initiative to life.
