Apprenticeship Programme – HKMA Guided Tour

As part of the Apprenticeship Programme co-organized by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the Private Wealth Management Association (PWMA), our apprentices recently had the opportunity to visit the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) for an engaging and informative learning experience.

The visit provided valuable insights into the HKMA’s role in maintaining Hong Kong’s monetary and financial stability, including a closer look at the Linked Exchange Rate System, which has helped anchor the Hong Kong dollar since 1983.

Participants also explored the evolution of Hong Kong’s currency and financial system, gaining a deeper appreciation of the city’s journey as a leading international financial centre.

This visit was also extended to participants from the Family Office Association Hong Kong Summer Internship Programme, creating an excellent opportunity for PWMA apprentices and FOAHK interns to connect with like-minded peers, exchange perspectives, and expand their professional networks across Hong Kong’s family office and private wealth management communities.

Beyond the technical knowledge gained, the visit helped bridge classroom learning and workplace experience, while fostering connections among the next generation of industry professionals.

At PWMA, we remain committed to providing aspiring wealth management practitioners with meaningful opportunities to broaden their industry knowledge, deepen their understanding of financial markets, and engage with key stakeholders across Hong Kong’s financial ecosystem.

Our sincere thanks to the HKMA for hosting the visit and sharing their expertise with our apprentices and internship participants.
